More interesting are the succulent and round yet decidedly powerful medium-bodied flavors that brim with dry extract that helps to buffer the notably firmer tannic spine shaping the lengthy finish. The fruit is balanced and at the perfect pitch of ripeness. Much more powerful on the palate with some black cherry notes as well as a little red fruit, mix of tannins and acidity, neither too prominent. Pierre Boisson is drawn to "mountain" terroirs of Auxey and the Hautes Cotes de Beaune, for both their stony terroirs and lower temps, which are particular important in warmer vintages likes 2015.
