Instead, a charming light raspberry perfume, all in finesse. There is that tensile thread here, that speaks of high quality, in this fine and understated wine with impressive persistence. 1er Cru Les Jarollieres ---- "This is also beautifully layered with its ripe and equally fresh nose reflects notes of roasted purple fruit, warm earth and an unusual hint of hoisin. The succulent, round and relatively refined flavors possess fine mid-palate volume along with a similar taut muscularity before terminating in a youthfully austere finish that is shaped by a very firm tannic spine. Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos St. Jean ---- "The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos Saint-Jean 1er Cru has more complexity on the nose than the Maltroye, with touches of lemon curd, white tea and crushed stone. This is open and generous without being overbearing. The palate is quintessential "Chassagne," well-balanced with ample weight. The oak is the guiding hand here, less prominent than on the Maltroye, with a dab of spice towards the lively finish. Very fine." - 92pts Vinous

"From vines planted in 1955. Pale lemon and lime in colour. A more chiselled nose and a tighter structure on the palate. A less opulent texture is no bad thing in 2019. "A discreet but perceptible dollop of wood sets off an equally pretty and even spicier mélange of ripe red berries trimmed in subtle floral nuances, in particular violet. The delicious and wonderfully refined middleweight flavors are quite graceful thanks to the fine-grained tannins supporting the impressively long finale that fans out as it sits on the palate. If this can add depth with time in bottle, my rating may prove to be too conservative." - Outstanding, Burghound

Aged 18 months in neutral barrels. ---- "This is at once slightly fresher and a bit more elegant as well with its floral and citrus-suffused nose that display background nuances of browned butter. There is excellent density and better precision to the middle weight flavors that culminate in a youthfully austere and lemony finish that is balanced, long and more complex.
