2022 Chassagne-Montrachet
Archaeological findings confirm the ancient village of Chassagne used to be occupied by a Roman society. The Romans planted the vines and built the city, hence the name "Romanée." From a 0.81 hectare parcel of vines planted in 1957 at a higher altitude of Chassagne, protected from the north wind by a stand of trees. Aged 15 months in 228 and 350 L oak barrels, 35% new.

2021
"A pungent nose is comprised by wood toast and firm reduction. Much more interesting are the impressively dense and sappy larger-bodied flavors that possess both excellent power and volume, all wrapped in a beautifully long and balanced finale. Like several wines in the range, this is on the oaky side but the mid-palate density appears to be present for it to be successfully integrated with time in bottle. Lovely potential." - Outstanding, Burghound

2018 1er Cru Blagny Sous le Dos d'Ane
1er Cru Blagny Sous le Dos d'Ane ---- "The 2018 Meursault-Blagny Sous Le Dos d'Ane 1er Cru has a feistier bouquet than the Clos des Mouches Blanc. Quite energetic and tensile, with lovely purity, yellow fruit and hints of peppermint that come through alongside wild fennel. There is a "noble reduction" at play here. The palate is well balanced with a pleasing sappiness on the entry. Fine weight, harmonious with impressive acidity, I admire its gentle build. Definitely worth seeking out. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting." - 93pts Vinous

2021 La Vigne de 1945
La Vigne de 1945 ---- "This is also pungently reduced with the only perceptible aromas that of wood toast. The medium weight flavors are not quite as dense though they are noticeably finer with stunningly good intensity along with excellent delineation on the even more complex and lingering finale. This is terrific." - 91-93/Outstanding Top Value, Burghound

2022 Puligny 1er Cru Hameau de Blagny
"Our Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru Hameau de Blagny is rich, with a beautiful minerality, a pale yellow color, gourmet notes of almond paste, vanilla, hazelnuts, white flowers. On the palate, the balance is there, with a long and complex finish, on notes of peppermint, citrus fruits. All its personality will be expressed in 2 to 3 years." ---- From 50 yr old vines that lie on only .17 ha of clay-limestone soil with cool evening exposure due to the high elevation of the plot. Hand harvested and gentle press, fermented in stainless steel with native yeasts. Aged in 70% neutral oak and 30% new oak for 14 months with gentle stirring every 15 days for 5 months.

2021 1er La Romanee
1er La Romanee ---- "A slightly riper and faintly exotic nose combines notes of citrus confit, white peach, Asian-style tea and notes of green apple. The rich, concentrated and powerful larger-bodied flavors possess excellent depth and persistence on the compact and built-to-age finish that is borderline tannic. This is almost always the best 1er in the Fontaine range and so it is again in 2021." - 93/Outstanding BH

2022 1er Cru Blanc
"The 2022 Meursault Blagny 1er Cru has a complex bouquet with mineral-driven citrus fruit and hints of honeysuckle developing in the glass. The palate is very well-balanced with a sapid entry. A little resinous in texture, there is plenty of extract, underlying the complex, stem ginger and lemon thyme-tinged finish. Give this plenty of bottle age, and there is very good potential." - Outstanding, Burghound
