"A discreet application of wood does not reduce the considerable appeal of the ripe, pure and airy nose with its broad mélange of wild red berry fruit liqueur, earth, spice, violets and a hint of animale. The broad-shouldered flavors possess superb mid-palate concentration that enrobes the buried but still quite firm tannins while culminating in a beautifully balanced, muscular and explosively long finish. This is also very clearly built to age yet like the Clos St. Denis, there is so much sap that this could be drunk now with pleasure. A 'wow' wine." - 95-97pts/Don't Miss! Burghound

"This is also brooding and reticent with an intensely earthy nose of both red and dark pinot fruit that is trimmed in hints of game, leather and herbal tea. The old vines are very much in evidence as there is a true abundance of palate soaking dry extract that imparts a velvety mouth feel to the mid-palate and buffers the very firm tannins on the youthfully austere, complex and hugely long finish. This is seriously impressive." - 93-96pts/Don't Miss! Burghound

"Here too there is enough wood to notice though not enough to detract materially from the purity of the elegant and expressive red berry fruit liqueur, spice and earth suffused aromas. There is fine concentration to the mineral-driven, intense and well-delineated medium weight plus flavors that coat the palate with dry extract before culminating in an impeccably well-balanced and strikingly long finish. This is really lovely and should age well over the mid to long-term yet it should be approachable after only 5 to 7 years of bottle age." - 92-94pts Burghound

"Notably ripe but brooding and somber aromas of spice, raspberry liqueur, warm earth and violet struggle somewhat against the generous oak treatment. Otherwise there is excellent volume and power to the big-bodied and muscular flavors that display solid detail before terminating in an extremely firm, vibrant and quite serious finish that possesses simply stunning depth and persistence. As the description suggests this is not entirely harmonious at present but the underlying material is so good that this explosive effort should eventually be nothing short of remarkable." - 95pts Burghound

2019 1er Cru Les Jarollieres
1er Cru Les Jarollieres ---- "This is also beautifully layered with its ripe and equally fresh nose reflects notes of roasted purple fruit, warm earth and an unusual hint of hoisin. The succulent, round and relatively refined flavors possess fine mid-palate volume along with a similar taut muscularity before terminating in a youthfully austere finish that is shaped by a very firm tannic spine. This too is excellent and a wine that should amply repay extended keeping." - 93pts/Sweet Spot Outstanding, Burghound
