2021 Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Beaune
"An appealingly fresh nose combines notes of lemon-lime, light oak and a similar hint of green apple. There is again excellent energy to the less concentrated if finer and more obviously mineral-driven flavors that also conclude in a very dry and focused finish that isn't quite as complex. Lovely for what this is and a wine that should be approachable young." - Outstanding Top Value, Burghound

2022 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos St. Jean
Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos St. Jean ---- "The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos Saint-Jean 1er Cru has more complexity on the nose than the Maltroye, with touches of lemon curd, white tea and crushed stone. This is open and generous without being overbearing. The palate is quintessential "Chassagne," well-balanced with ample weight. The oak is the guiding hand here, less prominent than on the Maltroye, with a dab of spice towards the lively finish. Very fine." - 92pts Vinous

2021 1er La Romanee
1er La Romanee ---- "A slightly riper and faintly exotic nose combines notes of citrus confit, white peach, Asian-style tea and notes of green apple. The rich, concentrated and powerful larger-bodied flavors possess excellent depth and persistence on the compact and built-to-age finish that is borderline tannic. This is almost always the best 1er in the Fontaine range and so it is again in 2021." - 93/Outstanding BH

The fame of Pommard in the 19th century earned it the image of a wine that is both forceful and virile. In reality, time, terroir and methods of vinification of Domaine GERMAIN have all combined to create a more subtle reality, a wine that is both richer and more sensitive. Its colour is the deep, dark red with mauve highlights. Its aromas are redolent of blackberry, bilberry, or gooseberry, cherry pit and ripe plum. Often, wild and feline notes develop with age. At full maturity, it tends towards leather, chocolate and pepper. It needs to be given time to open up to its fullest extent and to display its mouth-filling texture, its firm but delicate structure, its fruit-filled mouth, and its chewy tannins, which by then will be properly smoothed down.
