Burgundy - Page 51 - MISSION FINE WINES INC

2021

"Picked 28th September. A rich, indeed sumptuous purple. Exceptionally youthful bouquet with a little touch of new wood. A magical wine, which is entirely in balance. It is not just the concentration which moves to another level but the sublime and effortless suavity of texture. All in pure red fruit, nothing dark, my favourite alpine strawberries, but a host of other berries as well. Magical. Drink from 2030-2040." - 96-99pts Jasper Morris (96-98 Vinous & 97 John Gilman)

Trapet Chapelle-Chambertin

2010

"Discreet wood sets off a wonderfully elegant, airy and ultra-pure though quite ripe red pinot fruit nose that displays plenty of wet stone, floral and earth influences. The silky but firm large-scaled flavors are blessed with an abundance of dry extract that buffers the firm and ripe supporting tannins on the moderately austere, persistent and palate coating finish. Like all of the 2010s in the Trapet range, this is quite understated and beautifully balanced though note again that plenty of patience will be required." - 94pts Burghound

Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin

2020

"The lovely 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Village wafts from the glass with aromas of cherries, red berries, rose petals and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, vibrant and concentrated, its velvety attack segues into a layered, seamless mid-palate and a long, perfumed finish. It's a worthy follow-up to the 2019." - 90-92pts WA
