"The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers 1er Cru, courtesy of 70-year-old vines, is much more backward on the nose compared to the Noirots, but no less complex with lovely forest floor and wild mushroom scents interpolated amongst the dark fruit. There is something almost autumnal here. The palate is fresh and lightly spiced with a dash of white pepper, cohesive and structured with a very persistent finish. Excellent." - 94pts Vinous

This is a wine of textural contrasts as the finish is firm yet almost delicate and overall, this is a fine Nuits villages that has an established track record of aging well. Much more interesting are the impressively dense and sappy larger-bodied flavors that possess both excellent power and volume, all wrapped in a beautifully long and balanced finale. There is a wonderfully succulent mouthfeel to the beautifully textured medium weight flavors that exhibit a fine bead of minerality on the balanced, chiseled, nicely dry and lingering finale that is ever-so-mildly austere at present. It is not just the concentration which moves to another level but the sublime and effortless suavity of texture.
