2012 Grand Cru
Often overlooked amongst the sea of Grands Crus within the boundaries of Vosne Romanée and Flagey-Echezeaux, but arguably one of the most consistent of them all. Selected from 90 year old vines -- "Here the wood treatment is notably more discreet if not completely imperceptible as it allows the spice mélange of red and black pinot fruit, plum, earth and sandalwood hints to be easily appreciated. There is fine volume and density to the velvety, mouth coating and seductively textured flavors that possess so much dry extract on the balanced finish that this could easily be enjoyed now though note well that there is plenty of development potential. This is really quite good." - 91-93pts Burghound

2018 Lavaux St. Jacques
Lavaux St. Jacques ---- "The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques bursts from the glass with a stunning bouquet of orange rind, peonies, ripe wild berries, cassis, exotic spices and espresso roast, framed by a beautifully integrated application of new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, velvety and multidimensional, with ripe acids, a deep and concentrated core and a long, sapid finish. This is one of the riper wines in the cellar, with just over 13% natural alcohol, but it's beautifully balanced." - 94-96pts WA

2014
"Notably ripe but brooding and somber aromas of spice, raspberry liqueur, warm earth and violet struggle somewhat against the generous oak treatment. Otherwise there is excellent volume and power to the big-bodied and muscular flavors that display solid detail before terminating in an extremely firm, vibrant and quite serious finish that possesses simply stunning depth and persistence. As the description suggests this is not entirely harmonious at present but the underlying material is so good that this explosive effort should eventually be nothing short of remarkable." - 95pts Burghound

2019 NSG 1er Cru Les Bousselots
NSG 1er Cru Les Bousselots ---- "The old-vine 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Bousselots is very promising, mingling aromas of cherries, cassis and sweet berry fruit with hints of cinnamon, dark chocolate and truffle. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's seamless and elegant, with succulent acids and a broad, expansive finish." - 92pts WA

2019 Echezeaux Grand Cru
Echezeaux Grand Cru ---- "Etienne Julien's 2019 Echezeaux Grand Cru is showing beautifully, wafting from the glass with notes of cherries, plums, woodsmoke, exotic spices, espresso roast and forest floor. Full-bodied, layered and complete, it's ample and textural, with fine concentration, velvety tannins and lively acids. This is a flamboyant but controlled Echézeaux that's well worth seeking out." - 94+pts WA

2017 Nuits-St-Georges
"The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Thorey 1er Cru, which is matured in 55% new oak, has a very detailed bouquet of tensile black cherry and light cassis fruit, the mineral component becoming more expressive with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with broody black cherry and boysenberry fruit, a strong saline influence here and an oyster-shell-tinged finish. It will need several years bottle age but will be worth the wait." - 91-93pts Vinous

2019 1er La Riotte V.V.
1er La Riotte V.V. ----"An exuberantly spicy nose is comprised by notes of poached plum, violet, lavender and a suggestion of warm earth. There is once again a lovely sense of underlying tension to the medium-bodied flavors that possess a caressing palate impression before firming up on the sneaky long and balanced finale. This could also use better depth, but it has the density and tannic structure to allow this to happen." - Outstanding, Burghound
