2012
"Deep ruby color. A very ripe yet wonderfully fresh and expressive nose features notes of cassis, plum, black cherry and a broad array of spice nuances. There is a highly seductive mouth feel to the velvet-textured, powerful and robust big-bodied flavors that display plenty of minerality and drive on the exceptionally persistent finish. It's relatively rare that Ponsot's Chapelle surpasses his Griotte but in 2012 it appears to have just a bit more depth of material. We will of course see in time but this certainly appears very promising." - 92-95pts/Don't Miss! Burghound

"Interestingly this is even spicier with its own very broad array of spice elements that seemingly change with each whiff of the markedly ripe nose. The ripeness carries over to the dense, serious and overtly powerful big-bodied and imposingly scaled flavors that also possess seemingly unlimited reserves of palate coating dry extract that impart a velvety texture but also buffer the very firm tannins on the massively persistent finish. This is a big wine even by the outsized standards of a great Clos de la Roche yet the balance is faultless. This should be great in time." - 95-97pts/Don't Miss! Burghound

"Here too there is enough wood to notice though not enough to detract materially from the purity of the elegant and expressive red berry fruit liqueur, spice and earth suffused aromas. There is fine concentration to the mineral-driven, intense and well-delineated medium weight plus flavors that coat the palate with dry extract before culminating in an impeccably well-balanced and strikingly long finish. This is really lovely and should age well over the mid to long-term yet it should be approachable after only 5 to 7 years of bottle age." - 92-94pts Burghound

2013
"A notably spicy and attractively floral-suffused nose features notes of plum, rose petal, violets and ripe red currants. There is a seductive texture to the openly rich and generously proportioned flavors that retain a lovely sense of vibrancy on the lightly mineral-inflected finish that delivers both fine depth and length. This is a relatively refined Ech thanks to the fine grain of the supporting tannins." - 92-94pts Burghound

2013 Les Petit Vougeot

"This is also absolutely stunning in every respect and displays a kaleidoscopic combination that is not quite as spicy as the Clos St. Denis though it is earthier and almost as complex. It is immediately clear that this is a bigger and more powerful wine that possesses outstanding mid-palate density and a huge reserve of dry extract that imparts a seductive mouth feel and mostly buffers the exceptionally firm tannic spine on the massively long finish. This is an imposing effort that is even more imposingly structured and there is no point in buying this if you're not prepared to forget it in the back of your cellar for at least a decade, and two to three would be preferable. This is a stunner of a Clos de la Roche and it will be interesting to see which of the two Ponsot big boys is ultimately the better wine." - 94-97pts/Don't Miss! Burghound

2013 Morey-Saint-Denis
"This is more complex still if only just with a slightly less elegant array of red and blue fruit scents that include pomegranate, plum, blue berry, earth and a hint of exotic tea. The sleekly muscular middle weight flavors exude a fine bead of minerality on the delicious, intense, well-detailed and powerful finish that delivers excellent persistence. This could accurately be described as a mini Clos de la Roche and should amply repay extended cellaring, indeed it will need at least 6 to 8 years first." - 91-93pts/Sweet Spot Outstanding Burghound

2014
Deep, almost-inky garnet core, with purple reflections at the rim. The aromatics, too, reflect a riper vintage, with notes of black cherry, black plum, wet violets, a hint of licorice, black pepper, and forest floor. Nearly full-bodied and quite seductive to sip now, it remains well-framed by a smoky, stony mineral quality and balancing acidity.

2014 Bel Air
Bel Air -- "A cool, pure and restrained nose displays the attractively fresh essence of red pinot fruit, lavender and discreet earth nuances. There is equally good freshness and detail to the utterly delicious, complex and mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that display a taut muscularity as well as a sophisticated mouth feel thanks to the fine-grained tannins shaping the saline and impressively intense finish. This too is really quite good and worth checking out." - 92pts/Outstanding BH
