"Once again while the oak is more moderately applied subtle is not the word that I would use to describe its presence at present on the much more sauvage-inflected aromas of freshly turned earth, forest floor and various dark berry fruit scents. There is a highly seductive mouth feel to the equally big-bodied flavors thanks to the sappy dry extract that both coats the palate and buffers the marked firm tannic spine on the dusty, serious and gorgeously long finish. This ever-so-mildly rustic effort may one day catch its Bonnes Mares stable mate but at this early stage it appears that the Bonnes Mares enjoys the slightest of edges. Either way, 15 years from now it will be fascinating to compare these two beauties!" - 94pts Burghound

2019 Tres Vieilles Vignes
Tres Vieilles Vignes ---- "There are four barrels of the 2019 Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes, derived as usual from holdings in Les Quartiers de Nuits - from the part of the lieu-dit that is not included within the boundaries of the Echézeaux Grand Cru - and contiguous Les Violettes. Mingling notes of wild berries and raspberries with exotic top notes of mandarin rind, Asian spices and peonies, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, with a concentrated core of fruit complemented by complexifying carnal nuances." - 91-93pts William Kelley, Wine Advocate ---- "A wonderfully fresh nose combines notes of plum, exotic tea and lovely spice nuances. The suave and sophisticated medium weight flavors possess a caressing palate impression before concluding in a beautifully complex and focused finale that is decidedly firm but not really austere. This is an excellent Vosne villages and worth your interest." - 90-92/Outstanding Top Value, Burghound

2013 Morey-Saint-Denis
"This is more complex still if only just with a slightly less elegant array of red and blue fruit scents that include pomegranate, plum, blue berry, earth and a hint of exotic tea. The sleekly muscular middle weight flavors exude a fine bead of minerality on the delicious, intense, well-detailed and powerful finish that delivers excellent persistence. This could accurately be described as a mini Clos de la Roche and should amply repay extended cellaring, indeed it will need at least 6 to 8 years first." - 91-93pts/Sweet Spot Outstanding Burghound

2017 1er Les Champeaux
1er Cru Les Champeaux -- "Typically one of the broadest-shouldered wines in the cellar, the 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Champeaux was lightly reduced on the day that I tasted it, unwinding in the glass to reveal plenty of red-black fruit and savory nuance. On the palate, the wine was easier to read, displaying a medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated profile, with excellent amplitude, juicy acids and a long, delineated finish. It's a definite success." - 91-93+pts WA -- "This too is strongly reduced. The medium weight and lively flavors possess a comparatively refined mouthfeel and plenty of minerality on the firmer if less muscular finish where a touch of wood toast can be found. This too will require at least some patience and reward up to 15 years of it." - 90-93pts/Outstanding BH
