2013 Rosé de Saignée Rubis de la Dune
"The 2013 Extra Brut Rosé de Saignée Rubis de la Dune really sizzles with power, depth and vibrancy, making it the most complete of the three wines I tasted from Charlot this year. Rubis de la Dune is 80% Meunier and 20% Pinot Noir from vines in Mardeuil planted in 1955. Rich, creamy and ample, the 2013 offers superb resonance and all the character these old vines have to offer. It is such a gorgeous and alluring Champagne. Dosage: 4.5 gr/L. Disgorged: January, 2019." - 93pts Vinous

NV Le Ru Des Charmes
Le Ru Des Charmes ---- 60% Pinot Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir, and 20% Chardonnay from 60 year old vines. ---- "The latest release of Goutorbe-Bouillot's NV Brut Rosé Le Ru des Charmes is showing very well, wafting from the glass with an inviting bouquet of warm biscuits, red plums, pear and a discreet touch of leesiness. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and charming, it's bright and incisive, with ripe but racy acids and an elegantly fleshy core of fruit." - 91pts WA ---- "A toasty version, with bright acidity creating a mouthwatering frame for the flavors of white peach puree, ripe raspberry, spun honey and chopped almond. Salty mineral and spice notes play on the creamy finish. Drink now through 2023. 350 cases made, 100 cases imported." - 91pts WS

2010 Blanc de Blancs
"The newly released 2010 Brut Intégral from Saint-Chamant is showing nicely, revealing aromas of crisp yellow apples, honeycomb, white flowers and warm biscuits. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, tensile and incisive, with fine depth at the core, a refined mousse and a penetrating finish. This really needs a year or two on the cork to begin to show more complexity, but it is a finely balanced Champagne with a long future ahead of it." - 91+pts WA

2013
The Brut Vintage 2013 from Champagne Pol Roger is made from the traditional house vintage blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from 20 Grands and Premiers crus vineyards in the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs. Produced only in limited quantities the Brut Vintage 2013 has been aged for 7 years in our cellars before being disgorged and released onto the market. "Pol Roger's just-released 2013 Brut Vintage is a beautifully chiseled, incisive wine that will appeal immensely to purists. Unwinding in the glass with scents of citrus zest, white flowers, crushed chalk and hints of fresh sourdoughs, it's medium to full-bodied, racy and precise, with a nicely concentrated and tightly wound core, tangy acids and an elegant pinpoint mousse. After the rich, muscular 2012 vintage, the 2013 represents quite a contrast; I'm not sure we'll see its stylistic like again for some time, so readers with classically inclined palates will want to stock up - advice I'll be following myself." - 94pts Wine Advocate

2012
A rich yet very dry rosé with cherry, strawberry and strawberry tart. Hints of citrus. Full-bodied and very creamy with fine bubbles and a long, persistent finish. Focused finish, giving this form and tightness. Drink or hold. - 95pts James Suckling

2011 Vieille Vigne du Levant Extra Brut
Vieille Vigne du Levant Extra Brut ---- "I'm increasingly convinced that Pierre Larmandier produced Champagne's wines of the vintage this year, and the 2011 Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Vieille Vigne du Levant only compounds that suspicion. Unfurling in the glass with a deep and complex nose of citrus zest, crisp yellow apples, smoke, warm bread, mandarin oil and oyster shell, it's full-bodied and fleshy but incisive, with huge concentration, bright acids and a long, intensely saline finish. Totally transcending the reputation of 2011, it has many of the textural properties of a great white Burgundy, married with the cut and chalky grip of Champagne's Côte de Blancs." - 97pts WA

2013 Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Les Chemins d'Avize Grand Cru
Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Les Chemins d'Avize Grand Cru ---- "Disgorged in October 2019, Larmandier-Bernier's 2013 Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Les Chemins d'Avize is showing brilliantly, unfurling in the glass with a lovely nose of citrus oil, fresh apricot, peach and pear, complemented by hints of fresh walnuts and almond paste. Full-bodied, deep and vinous, it's layered and elegantly muscular, with a concentrated core of ripe fruit, racy acids and a long, mineral finish. Pierre Larmandier invariably excels in cool, late growing seasons, so the 2013 vintage was perfectly adapted to his talents." - 96pts WA

"Was there ever a better vintage of this wine? Much more than the usual fruit-bomb, this is a panolply of complexity and flowers, especially roses and groseille. It should take us to the Fall, but it would avail you to be, well, grabby. I did taste a 2014 without dosage and had no reason to doubt it would be effective. But ’13 is stunning" - Terry Theise

2007 Gonet-Médeville Extra Brut
"You’d think the debut of Gonet-Médeville’s 2007 Grand Cru ‘Louvière’ would be met with deafening fanfare and critical acclaim. Instead, just 60 bottles were quietly ushered into America, making this one of the year’s greatest, rarest, and most clandestine Champagnes." - Mark Osburn, Sommelier & Champagne Specialist ---- "What made me want to make Champagne was wines from '29, '45, '55, '59, '61, '64 - I want to make wines like that", says Xavier. You need have no fear of cellaring these wines to see how they evolve, however delicious they are now. ---- Louvière is very crispy, intense, crystalline and pure, definitively a great Champagne for aperitif while Champ d'Alouette is much more powerful, complex and gastronomic. Dosage: 2g/l Time on lees: 11 years (disgorged in 2019)
