"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Helms Vineyard is bigger, richer and deeper than the 2008 tasted alongside it. In this vintage (and 2010) the picks were smaller, and therefore many of the fermentations were done in smaller French oak barrels, which has given the wine much of its shape. Ripe dark cherries, menthol and spices wrap around the finish. It is a great honor to witness their evolution over all these years. This wine offers purity and brightness to a degree I don't remember seeing in past vintages. This Brunello fully embraces the sharpness and linearity that this classic vintage will be celebrated for.
