2016 Nuits-St-Georges
Nuits-St-Georges ---- "A more deeply pitched nose features notes of plum and earth along with whiffs of wood and the sauvage. There is fine density and intensity to the lightly stony medium weight flavors that conclude in a saline and moderately rustic finale." - BH

"This is the first wine in the range to display reductive notes and while I expect that they are largely due to the very recent bottling, I would suggest decanting this if you're going to crack a bottle in the next 12 months or so. Otherwise there is once again an attractive sleekness to the precise and vibrant medium weight flavors that brim with minerality that really comes to the fore on the impressively complex and persistent finish that is somewhat linear at present. I would expect this to flesh out with bottle age." - 92pts Burghound

2010 Morey-Saint-Denis
Description of the plot : Located south of the village on the edge of Chambolle, below Clos de Tart and Les Bonnes Mares. Situated in the valley bottom, the plot is sheltered from the cold north winds and enjoys a microclimate which enables good grape maturity. For those just getting to know Burgundy wines, Magnien is a masterful guide, as he offers an unparalleled selection of wines from the region's finest vineyards. Yet for Burgundy connoisseurs, Magnien is the benchmark for exploring the characteristics of grand and premier cru wines: the licorice of Chambertin, the incense of Morey "Ruchots," the orange essence of Échezeaux. The signature of Magnien Burgundy is the perfumes and tastes of late summer -- dark, ripe plums and sweet, concentrated blackberries, cooled by the laurel-tinged air of the forest.
