Vosne Romanee -- This plot was acquired in 2002 by Axelle’s family. Les Barreaux is located at the top of the slope, surrounded by 3 premier crus and 1 grand cru - Cros Parentoux, Les Petits Monts, Aux Brulées and Richebourg. Average Age of the Vines: 35-40 years old. -- Tasting Notes: Deep purple to the rim, vibrant, with a fresh, lively nose of blackcurrant, juicy, crunchy and fresh. On the palate lovely velvety black fruits, supple, lightly spiced, rich and deliciously approachable with a long, fresh finish.

"The 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Lavières 1er Cru, grown on 30–50cm of alluvial soil over stratified hard limestone subsoil and matured in around 35% new oak, is blessed with an engaging, pure bouquet of red currant and cranberry jus, a palpable sense of minerality coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and vibrant red berry fruit, the 60-year-old vines imparting wonderful complexity on the finish. An outstanding Les Lavières that comes highly recommended." - 92-94pts Vinous

"Moderately generous wood sets off equally cool, pure and airy aromas of both red and dark pinot fruit that are much more floral in character. While not quite as mineral-driven, the seductively textured medium-bodied flavors possess even better depth and persistence.
