Les Epenots -- "Once again there are ample wood and menthol notes surrounding the more elegant nose of ripe red berries, spice and warm earth nuances. The caressing and delicious flavors are not as dense but they're definitely more refined and I particularly like the texture of the impressively persistent finish. Romanee Saint-Vivant Grand Cru -- "An overtly floral, elegant and airy nose displays a huge array of spice elements on the red currant, cherry, tea, hoisin and lavender scents. The super-refined middle weight flavors possess a gorgeously sophisticated mouth feel that is at once silky yet packing plenty of punch that continues onto the harmonious finish where the persistence lasts for several minutes. I was knocked out by the palate impression because when RSV is "on", the finesse is unmatched by any of the other grands crus in Burgundy.
