2017 Gigondas
Gigondas -- "More concentrated and tannic than the 2016, the 2017 Gigondas shows outstanding potential. Marked by hints of charred wood and mocha, it's nevertheless rich, ripe and fruity, with a long finish." - 91-93pts WA

2009 "Arena Mica"
Very simply, Stéphane Vedeau makes expressive, beautifully balanced wines in an approachable (and affordable!) style. Hermitage is the most famous Northern Rhone appellation and typically the Syrah-based reds from the region are powerful, deep, muscular wines that can take years to soften and develop. The 2009 J. Boutin Hermitage stands apart from the crowd for its elegant purity, its concentrated (not extracted) plush flavors of raspberry, cherry & a kiss of chocolatey iron. Its texture evokes the descriptor "seductive" & we don't toss that around carelessly or without merit. With tannins far softer than is typical for a young Hermitage, it absolutely may be drunk now and indeed, is a stunning glass of wine. Delicious now, it will also reward cellaring over the next several years.

2019
"Gorgeous black raspberries, strawberry, spring flowers, incense, and assorted Provençal spice notes all emerge from the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape, a medium to full-bodied, incredibly pure, utterly seamless 2019 that excels on all accounts. Madame Ferando continues to knock it out of the park in just about every vintage, and this is well worth seeking out. The base cuvée is 85% Grenache and 5% each of Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault, aged all in concrete tanks." - 93pts Jeb Dunnuck
