"A more elegant and fresher if still decidedly ripe nose combines notes of pretty floral and very pinot scents trimmed in discreet spice wisps. The caressing and markedly finer medium-bodied flavors possess reasonably good density for young vines while delivering solid depth and length on the more structured finale. "The 2022 Meursault Blagny 1er Cru has a complex bouquet with mineral-driven citrus fruit and hints of honeysuckle developing in the glass. The palate is very well-balanced with a sapid entry. A little resinous in texture, there is plenty of extract, underlying the complex, stem ginger and lemon thyme-tinged finish. Give this plenty of bottle age, and there is very good potential." - Outstanding, Burghound

"A discreet but perceptible dollop of wood sets off an equally pretty and even spicier mélange of ripe red berries trimmed in subtle floral nuances, in particular violet. The delicious and wonderfully refined middleweight flavors are quite graceful thanks to the fine-grained tannins supporting the impressively long finale that fans out as it sits on the palate. "Our Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru Hameau de Blagny is rich, with a beautiful minerality, a pale yellow color, gourmet notes of almond paste, vanilla, hazelnuts, white flowers. On the palate, the balance is there, with a long and complex finish, on notes of peppermint, citrus fruits. All its personality will be expressed in 2 to 3 years." ---- From 50 yr old vines that lie on only .17 ha of clay-limestone soil with cool evening exposure due to the high elevation of the plot. Hand harvested and gentle press, fermented in stainless steel with native yeasts. Aged in 70% neutral oak and 30% new oak for 14 months with gentle stirring every 15 days for 5 months.
