2012 Cuvee La Rue des Noyers
Cuvee La Rue des Noyers - 100% Pinot Meunier; Benoit is an eighth generation vigneron that returned to the family estate after working for Bollinger. He is committed to natural farming and aims to craft unadultered, pure Pinot Meunier. He purchased this 1.7 hectare vineyard and farms it biodynamically. The results are exceptional and we are thrilled to introduce Benoit's work to our clients. The Cuvee La Rue de Noyers, named for the walnut trees that line the parcel, is a wine that will keep you intrigued and coming back for more.

NV Rose de Saignee Brut
Rose de Saignee Brut - The demand is so feverish the wine sells out just as it's starting to be really good with
a year on the cork. The '07 cuvée will be with us till mid-summer 2010, followed by an
'08. The 07 is disgorged 1/10 so if you have a later one, it's '08. Its lovers will love it
again, as the '08 fruit is especially fine and silky and detailed, blackberries and blueberries.
'07 was heavier, more explosive, while '08 seems classier. By the way, our most
popular Geoffroy wine is also our sweetest Geoffroy wine this has 10g of filthy rs.
70% Pinot Meunier, 20% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir. True to it's name, this three grape blend is highly expressive on both the nose and palate, especially when compared to many of the other options available for the same price. Rated 92+pts by John Gilman, this punches well above it's weight.
NV "Cuvee Prestige"
The Duc de Romet Brut is a Blanc de Noirs of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. It’s 75% Meunier and 25% Pinot Noir. The vineyards are entirely from the village of Vandières which is along the Marne River, a few villages west of Cumières. Vandières has the same rating as Merfy, where Chartogne-Taillet is located, but the parcels here are situated in a south-eastern facing amphitheater around the village, much like Oger, which allows the grapes to become very ripe. The Duc de Romet is a delightfully balanced Blanc de Noirs made from purchased grapes from small growers in the village. This is a ND (Négociant-Distributeur), which means this is a blend from the different growers in the Vallée de la Marne who do not produce their own Champagne. The grapes are sent to the local co-op where they are fermented; one of our producers does the final blend.
NV Rose (Lombardy, Italy)
40% Pinot Noir, 50% Chardonnay & 20% Pinot Blanc. Dry. Franciacorta is a lovely alternative bubbly. A delicious sparkler for casual celebrations, fresh, lively, with a delicate, lacy froth that dances across the tongue. Very pretty petal pink color.
2009 Terres Rouges
Terres Rouges -- 93pts Vinous "...an unusual Champagne for Jacquesson in that it is the first this wine was bottled with no dosage. Crushed rose petal, tobacco, anise and star anise are all super expressive and the non-dosage style results in a powerful, almost tannic Rose endowed with considerable structure and intensity. Readers should expect an intense Rose that will offer its best drinking at the dinner table. Disgorged Jan. 16."
100% Chardonnay. A little black dress in a bottle, a very classy Champagne. The fine mousse shows its good breeding & the beautiful gold packaging makes a gorgeous presentation on the holiday sideboard or in a Champagne bucket.
NV 'Selection Belles Annees'
The Cote de Blancs winery is in the premier cru village of Cuis, where the Gimonnet family has been growing grapes since 1750. Pierre Gimonnet started bottling estate champagnes in 1935; his grandson, Didier, is currently in charge of the now 28 hectares of holdings. In addition to the 13.5 hectares in Cuis, Gimonnet owns 11 hectares of chardonnay vines in the Grand Cru villages of Cramant and Chouilly, plus another hectare in Oger and two in Vertus.
The high percentage of old vines at this estate sets it apart in a region suffering from a plethora of very young vineyards: seventy percent of Gimonnet's holdings are over 30 years old, of which some forty percent are over 40 years old, with 100+ year old vines in the lieux-dits of Le Fond du Bateau, planted in 1911, and Buisson planted in 1913, both in the Grand Cru village of Cramant.
"Cramant," says Gimonnet, is "very expressive and round;" Chouilly is similar in style but slightly less concentrated; Cuis is much more "neutral, acid, fresh, aerial:" this north-facing village is the coolest in the Côte des Blancs. These are sappy, crunchy, refreshing champagnes of acupuncturally tonic qualities with lingering, salty purity.
100% Chardonnay: 60% Grand Cru fruit and 40% Premier Cru. Unoaked. 40 months on the lees before disgorgement.
